This professional development tool is designed to guide a team of educators and/or parents in examining existing practices and creating a plan for improving parent involvement at the school, district, and state levels.

Using the webcast Parent Involvement: Meeting High Expectations with Practical Solutions, which features national experts, teams explore strategies for overcoming many of the challenges to successfully engaging all parents in their children's academic achievement. Based on actual experience with parent and family programs, this guided training is aligned with NCLB, National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Standards, and current research on parent involvement. Training participants move through a research-based parent involvement framework developed by the National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL) that addresses key areas considered important for helping teachers, schools, and districts work with families to support high expectations and success for all students.
